Why become a food and farming member?

The Soil Association offers assistance and information for anyone considering going organic. As a charity, we can offer some support free of charge. However, as a food and farming member you can access our full range of services.

Note: organic producers and processors licensed with Soil Association Certification Ltd (licensees) receive the benefits of membership free of charge.

  • Telephone helpdesk for free technical advice on the practical application and interpretation of organic standards, plus support, information and marketing advice and contacts
  • The excellent quarterly journal's Living Earth and Organic Farming - invaluable technical and market information, consumer news and feature articles

  • A range of fact sheets, briefing sheets and technical guides
  • Access to a comprehensive programme of training events, seminars and farm walks covering all aspects of organic systems - excellent opportunities to exchange information, make contacts and see examples of best practice
  • Priority booking and discounts for the national organic conference
  • Representation - The Soil Association participate in all major agricultural, environmental and food industry forums, which means that your voice will be heard. Farmers can make contact directly with us or use our producer committee
